Ex-Badger Heatley tallies 3 in win

OTTAWA (AP) -- Dany Heatley notched a hat trick and had an assist as Ottawa downed Boston 4-1.

Heatley put the Senators ahead 1-0 in the second period before he and Jason Spezza (SPET'-suh) added power-play goals later in the period. Heatley completed the hat trick with his 35th goal of the season, scoring into an empty net.

Martin Gerber turned back 28 shots and held the Bruins scoreless until Glen Murray beat him with 2:26 remaining to get Boston within 3-1.

The win puts the Senators within two points of Montreal for the Eastern Conference lead. The Bruins are one point ahead of eighth-place Philadelphia.
