MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Marieanna Dulas carried the scoring load and fellow guard Jadee Rooney added some late heroics as Markesan held off Colfax 41-35 today in the Division 3 semifinals of the state high school girls basketball tournament.
Dulas had 15 points and kept the 24-2 Hornets in contention at Madison.
Rooney got her only two baskets late in the game when Colfax made it close, and two free throws by her and one by Dulas in the final 21 seconds wrapped it up.
Courtney Doucette led 21-4 Colfax with 13 points, including three 3-pointers, one from about 25 feet.
