The Milwaukee Brewers are sending two players to the 2008 All-Star Game at Yankee Stadium as LF Ryan Braun and RHP Ben Sheets were named to the National League team.
Braun was voted to the starting outfield along with the Cubs Alfonso Soriano and Kosuke Fukudome. Only the Phillies’ Chase Utley had more votes in the National League.
Sheets will make his fourth appearance at the Mid-Summer Classic. He could be named NL starter later this week as he is third in the National League in both wins and ERA.
RF Corey Hart was named one of five players in the All-Star Final Vote, squaring off against the Mets’ David Wright, the Astros’ Carlos Lee, the Phillies’ Pat Burrell and the Giants’ Aaron Rowand. Fans can vote for Hart at www.brewers.com or www.mlb.com . There is no limit to the amount of votes one may cast.
