Alando Tucker showed why he's the Big Ten's player of the year, setting the school's career scoring record as Number Three Wisconsin beat Illinois 53-41 today in the semifinals of the conference tournament.
Tucker finished with 21 points. He started the day one point shy of Michael Finley's record -- and beat it on his first shot attempt about two minutes into the game.
The victory sets up a championship matchup with Number One Ohio State, which beat Purdue 63-52 behind a superb effort from freshman center Greg Oden.
Tucker hit his first four shots and finished ten-of-17. Teammate Kammron Taylor added 16 points.
Warren Carter scored 14 for Illinois, which had won 18 straight at the United Center.
