LAKE FOREST, Ill. (AP) -- As impressed as Lance Briggs is by Jamar Williams, the Pro Bowl linebacker isn't about to relinquish his weakside spot.
Briggs expects to be in his usual position when the Chicago Bears host the Green Bay Packers after missing a game with a sprained left knee. Williams' role is unclear after a 20-tackle performance in last week's 17-9 win that coach Lovie Smith said demanded more playing time.
It just won't come at the expense of a four-time Pro Bowler. Afterall, Williams has only three career starts.
The struggling Bears will need all the help they can get to beat the Green Bay Packers on Sunday. That means having Briggs in the lineup.
