Thursday Wisconsin Sports UPDATE

Here is the latest Wisconsin sports from The AP

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -- The Green Bay Packers think they might have the NFL's best defensive line. Now they need to prove it against a worthy opponent. And that might not happen again this week. After a dominant performance against an injury-depleted Seattle offense last weekend, the Packers probably won't get a true test from the banged-up Jacksonville Jaguars in tonight's preseason game at Lambeau Field. The Jaguars offensive line will be missing two starters.

PHOENIX (AP) -- Brandon Webb's shutout streak ended, but his Arizona Diamondbacks won anyway last night. The Arizona ace gave up two runs in seven innings, stopping his scoreless string at 42 innings, but he still won his sixth consecutive start to lead the Diamondbacks past the Milwaukee Brewers 3-to-2.

PHOENIX (AP) -- The Brewers are off today before playing a weekend series in San Francisco. The Giants are last in the West Division with a 55-and-72 record, while the Brewers' record now is 65-and-62.

KOHLER, Wis. (AP) -- Two-time state champion Jim Schuman holds a 3-stroke lead midway through the final round of the weather-delayed Wisconsin State Open golf tournament at Blackwolf Run in Kohler. Play was suspended at that point yesterday, and the final round is to be completed today.
