Friday Wisconsin Sports UPDATE

Here is the latest Wisconsin sports from The AP

Backup quarterback David Garrard led the Jacksonville Jaguars to a 21-to-13 preseason victory over the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field Thursday night. The Packers lost for the first time after two preseason wins, and they may have lost much more after having top receiver Donald Driver go out with an injury to his right foot.

Coach Mike McCarthy says it's been initially diagnosed as a foot sprain.

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) -- The Milwaukee Brewers didn't play yesterday, but they still gained ground in the Central Division race because the Chicago Cubs lost to the San Francisco Giants.

That leaves the Brewers just half a game behind first-place Chicago as they open a weekend series in San Francisco tonight.

KOHLER, Wis. (AP) -- Amateur Daniel Woltman from Beaver Dam won the weather-delayed Wisconsin State Open golf tournament at Blackwolf Run in Kohler. Play had been suspended midway through the fourth round Wednesday because of stormy weather. Woltman was 4-under at that point and held on to finish yesterday with a 68 and a total of 284.
