Last one to leave turn out the lights!

That could be the sign hanging on the door at the UW Hockey offices these days. The Badgers have lost yet another player to an early departure to the NHL and their still could be more to follow.

Lleading scorer Derek Stepan will sign with the New York Rangers on July 1st according to a New York Post report citing Rangers GM Glen Sather, who said he expects the junior center to attend the Rangers' prospect camp the first week of July. Stepan was the Rangers second-round pick in the 2008. He led the Badgers with 54 points last season. The report says Stepan has agreed to terms on a 3-year deal with a base salary of $875,000.In another report Stepan's father confirmed his son is leaving despite the fact that many close to the Rangers say Stepan's chances of making it with the Rangers at the start of next season are a long shot.

The Rangers might not be done raiding the Badgers roster. The NY Post also reports that the team is still pursuing Badgers captain Ryan McDonagh who would be a senior next season.
