Friday Wisconsin Sports UPDATE

Here is the latest Wisconsin sports from The AP

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -- The Green Bay Packers hoped to get back two injured starters on offense this week but instead got some discouraging news. Running back Vernand Morency's knee flared back up, and wide receiver Greg Jennings still had some soreness in his hamstring. The lingering injury issues left both players' availability in doubt going into the Packers' road game against the New York Giants on Sunday.

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -- Remember Koren Robinson? The Green Bay Packer wide receiver is eligible to be reinstated from his one-year NFL suspension beginning next Tuesday. Robinson was suspended for violating the league's substance abuse policy last year after he was charged with drunken driving and fleeing police in connection with an incident last August.

MILWAUKEE (AP) -- The Milwaukee Brewers lost their grip on first place in the National League's Central Division without even playing yesterday. They had been tied with Chicago, but the Cubs beat Houston 6-2 to pull half a game ahead. The Brewers face the Cincinnati Reds at Miller Park tonight.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Jonathan Casillas has developed into one of the Wisconsin Badgers' best linebackers, but he probably will always be remembered best for one play two years ago. He was an unknown freshman when he blocked a punt that was recovered in the end zone with 30 seconds left against rival Minnesota. It capped a 10-point comeback in the closing minutes. The Badgers play The citadel tomorrow at Camp Randall Stadium.
