Wisconsin coach Bret Bielema met last week with the UW-Madison dean of students to discuss suspended running back Lance Smith.
Smith is the Badgers' Number Two running back. He's barred from playing in the team's 5 road games this season as punishment for a July incidence in which he allegedly pushed his girlfriend.
Bielema said at his weekly news conference Monday that he had the meeting with Dean of Students Lori Berquam last week to discuss the Smith case. He says he just wanted to make sure Smith gets a fair shake.
Bielema says he gave Berquam some new information about the case. He didn't say what that information is.
Smith has pleaded not guilty to a pair of misdemeanors and has a November 15th court date.
