MADISON, Wis. -- After garnering a 12-7-1 mark in 2012, the University of Wisconsin women’s soccer team earned an at-large bid in the 2012 NCAA Women’s Soccer Tournament.
The Badgers will travel to Los Angeles, Calif., to take on third-seeded UCLA on Saturday, Nov. 10, at 7:30 p.m. (CT) in the opening round of the Big Dance. UW will look to avenge its 2-0 non-conference loss to the Bruins on Aug. 31.
Wisconsin owns a 13-15-2 all-time record in the NCAA tournament, including a 3-2 mark in their last five matches. UW head coach Paula Wilkins will make her ninth NCAA tournament appearance, including her third with the Badgers. Wilkins guided Penn State to a pair of College Cup semifinal appearances in 2002 and 2005, while at the helm.
The Bruins and Badgers will meet for only the third time in program history, with UCLA holding the 2-0-0 all-time record following their shutout win over Wisconsin in late August.
