ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The Wisconsin softball team earned its fifth win over a ranked team this year with a 9-3 triumph over No. 6/7 Michigan on Friday at the Wilpon Complex.
Freshman Sara Novak had a career day for the Cardinal and White, hitting her first career grand slam and collecting six RBI.
Senior Michelle Mueller and junior Maria Van Abel each collected two hits, while senior Mary Massei tallied a hit and two runs.
Taylor-Paige Stewart went the distance for the Badgers, giving up three runs on six hits and added four strikeouts.
Wisconsin and Michigan meet again tomorrow in a 6:30 p.m. (CT) contest that will air on BTN.
