MILWAUKEE (AP) -- Milwaukee Brewers shortstop Alex Gonzalez has become a free agent after coming off the 60-day disabled list.
The team said Monday Gonzalez joined Brewers right-handers in choosing free agency.
Gonzalez missed most of last season after tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee May 5 at San Francisco.
The Brewers also said first baseman Mat Gamel and left-hander Chris Narveson have come off the 60-day disabled list. Gamel tore the ACL in his right knee May 1 at San Diego. Narveson was put on the DL April 20 with a torn left rotator cuff. He went 1-1 in only two starts last season.
Milwaukee's 40-man roster stands at 36.
