Friday Morning Wisconsin Sports Report

Posted Friday, September 14, 2012 --- 7:40 a.m.

Here is the latest Wisconsin sports news from The Associated Press:

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -- Backup tight end Tom Crabtree scored on a fake field goal last night to help the Green Bay Packers defeat the Chicago Bears 23-10. The Packers intercepted four passes and sacked Chicago quarterback Jay Cutler seven times. The Bears also lost running back Matt Forte to an ankle injury.

UNDATED (AP) -- After last week's humbling loss to Oregon State, Wisconsin can't afford to look past anybody. The Badgers are preparing to face Utah State, which knocked off Utah in overtime last week. Despite the shaky start, Wisconsin believes it can get the season turned around quickly.

MILWAUKEE (AP) -- Mike Fiers takes the hill tonight as the Milwaukee Brewers take on the New York Mets. The Brewers come into the game having won ten of their last 13 games. Milwaukee is three-and-a-half games behind St. Louis for the second NL wild car spot.

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Allen Craig singled home the go-ahead run in the seventh inning last night as the St. Louis Cardinals beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 2-1. Lance Lynn pitched six innings of five-hit ball to pick up his first victory since late July for the Cardinals. Adrian Gonzalez had an RBI double for the Dodgers.
