Friday Morning Wisconsin Sports Report

Posted Friday, November 2, 2012 --- 8:25 a.m.

Here is the latest Wisconsin sports news from The Associated Press:

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -- Green Bay Packers receiver Greg Jennings has undergone surgery to repair a torn abdominal muscle. Jennings said on Twitter yesterday that "surgery went well." No return date has been given for Jennings, who has missed the last four games with the injury.

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -- The Packers recognize that their running game is sluggish. Green Bay is averaging just 3.7 yards per carry, with only Dallas, Arizona and New Orleans worse in NFC. The entire team hasn't rushed for more than 100 yards in nearly a month. The Packers face the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday before entering the bye week.

BOSTON (AP) -- The Milwaukee Bucks open the regular season tonight on the road against the Boston Celtics. The Bucks finished the preseason with a 3-5 record. The Celtics are coming off a season-opening loss against the Miami Heat.

MILWAUKEE (AP) -- The Milwaukee Brewers have outrighted outfielder Nyjer Morgan to Triple-A Nashville. Morgan hit .304 while helping the Brewers win the NL Central in 2011, but slumped to .239 this past season. Milwaukee also announced that right-hander Jose Veras declined his assignment to Nashville and decided to become a free agent.
