GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -- There will soon be a new Packers monument in Green Bay.

Organizers of the Packers Heritage Trail are building it and say it will include two 27-foot-tall standards shaped like a goalpost that light up at night. It will also have statues of Paul Hornung and Johnny "Blood" McNally and glass walls etched with images of Packers glory.

The Green Bay Press-Gazette reports (http://gbpg.net/WtklOS ) a fundraising drive is already under way to pay for the $500,000 attraction.

The Packers Heritage Trail opened this summer. It's is a walking tour of historic sites, mostly in downtown Green Bay, related to the football team's early years.

Officials hope the monument will be complete by next summer.

Packers president Mark Murphy says he expects it to be a great addition to the trail.
