Mequon, WI — July 12, 2013. Madison Mallards (7-3, 28-15) shortstop Mike Reuvekamp (California) put an end to the longest game in Northwoods League history Friday night with a two-run blast in the top of the 21st to give the Mallards a 5-4 win over the Lakeshore Chinooks (7-2, 28-15).

The Mallards and Chinooks were tied 3-3 after 16 innings on June 22nd, but a City of Mequon ordinance stating that an inning cannot begin past 11:00 pm halted the game. The official game time for the marathon was 5 hours and 49 minutes.

The Chinooks put runners on second and third with only one out in the bottom half of the inning but only managed to score one off of Mallards reliever Danny Sullivan (Davenport).

Ben Neumann (Northern Illinois) got the win by going five innings and allowing just one hit. He improves to 2-2 on the year while Sullivan racked up his second save.

Luke Lowery (Southern Mississippi) got the loss. He also went five innings and allowed three hits.

Reuvekamp finished 3-for-7 on the night with two RBIs and a run scored while John LaPrise (Virginia) went 4-for-9 with a run and an RBI. It was Reuvekamp's first home run of the season and second overall with the Mallards.

The Mallards and Chinooks will play another game tonight. The game was scheduled to start about a half an hour after the completion of this game.

The Mallards will play the Chinooks in Mequon on Saturday at 6:35 pm before returning home to the "Duck Pond" on Sunday for a 5:05 pm first pitch.
