PITTSBURGH (AP) -- Carlos Gomez and Aramis Ramirez homered yesterday in the Milwaukee Brewers 7-0 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates. Brewers starter Mark Rodgers earned the victory after allowing three hits over five innings. The Brewers won for the fifth time in six games.

UNDATED (AP) -- Rookie Russell Wilson has won the Seattle Seahawks' starting quarterback job. Coach Pete Carroll made the announcement last night. The Seahawks selected Wilson out of Wisconsin in the third round of April's draft.

CHICAGO (AP) -- Chris Volstad ended a 24-start winless streak yesterday as the Chicago Cubs blanked the Colorado Rockies 5-0. Volstad earned his first victory since July 2011 after allowing three hits in six-plus innings of work. Cubs second baseman Darwin Barney drove in a pair of runs.

CINCINNATI (AP) -- Matt Holliday had four hits and four RBIs yesterday in the St. Louis Cardinals' 8-2 win over the Cincinnati Reds. Allen Craig homered and drove in three runs for the Cardinals, who have won five of their last six games. Starter Adam Wainwright picked up his 13th victory after allowing two runs in five-plus innings.
