SAN FRANCISCO (AP) -- Madison Bumgarner won his third straight decision yesterday as the San Francisco Giants beat the Milwaukee Brewers 2-1. Mike Fontenot and Jeff Keppinger each drove in runs for the Giants. Ryan Braun homered for the Brewers, who have lost three of their last four games.
MILWAUKEE (AP) -- Milwaukee Bucks assistant coach Joe Wolf will head to Slovenia next month for Basketball without Borders Europe. Wolf will be part of the coaching staff at the program designed to use the sport to create social change in education, health and wellness. Wolf joined the program in Singapore last year for its inaugural trip to southeast Asia.
CHICAGO (AP) -- The Chicago Cubs completed the three-game sweep by beating the Houston Astros 5-4 yesterday in ten innings. Pinch-hitter Jeff Baker drove in Marlon Byrd to give the Cubs their first three-game sweep at home in nearly two years. Clint Barmes and Carlos Lee each homered for the Astros.
CINCINNATI (AP) -- Drew Stubbs hit a walk-off homer in the bottom of the ninth to give the Cincinnati Reds a 4-3 victory over the Atlanta Braves last night. Brandon Phillips and Miguel Cairo also homered for the Reds. It's the first time in more than five weeks that the Reds won back-to-back games.
