MADISON, Wis. -- Wisconsin women’s hockey goaltender Alex Rigsby was named WCHA Defensive Player of the Week on Wednesday, after helping the Badgers to their first shutout and series sweep in LaBahn Arena.

Hosting New Hampshire on Friday, Oct. 26, and Sunday, Oct. 28, the Badgers claimed the first win in LaBahn Arena in the opening game. Rigsby backstopped Wisconsin to the 2-1 victory with a season-high 29 saves. In the weekend finale, Rigsby made 21 stops to record her first shutout of the season and give the Badgers their first sweep in their new home.

On the weekend, Rigsby made 50 saves for a .980 save percentage and a 0.50 goals against average. Rigsby is currently ranked fourth in the nation for total saves with 205.
