Sun Prairie Crushes Parker, 40-0

Sun Prairie came one step closer to donning the Big Eight crown Friday night with a 40-0 win over Janesville Parker.

The Cardinals jumped to an early 12-0 lead in the 1st quarter, and kept piling it on later in the half. Vernon Mems pounded in a bruising 2-yard touchdown late in the 1st quarter to put the Cardinals up 19-0.

UW recruit Craig Evans would keep momentum on the home team's side later in the 2nd quarter with a fumble recovery to put the Sun Prairie offense back in business.

On the next possession, Cardinals quarterback Ryan Curran connected with Devan Ziegel for a touchdown to increase the Sun Prairie lead.

Sun Prairie closes out the regular season with Madison East next Friday night.
