Trailing 14-3 at halftime, the Badgers got an 82-yard punt return from Kenzel Doe to begin their comeback. Montee Ball shook off a rough night to score the go-ahead touchdown on a 17-yard run late in the third quarter. Wisconsin narrowly avoided two consecutive losses after a defeat at Oregon State last weekend.
MILWAUKEE (AP) -- Rickie Weeks hit a two-run homer during a five-run fourth inning to lift the Milwaukee Brewers to a 9-6 win over the New York Mets on Saturday night. Trailing 4-1 in the fourth the Brewers rallied for five runs in Miller Park to win for the 19th time in 25 games. The victory keeps them in the hunt for a wild card spot.
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Francisco Liriano took a no-hitter into the seventh inning, and the Chicago White Sox stayed on top of the AL Central with a 5-3 victory over the Minnesota Twins. Acquired from the Twins on July 28th, the victory was Liriano's third for the White Sox and his first against Minnesota.
JOLIET, Ill. (AP) -- Ricky Stenhouse Junior raced to his fifth Nationwide Series victory of the year to take the season points lead, easily outlasting Kyle Busch on Saturday at Chicagoland Speedway. Stenhouse passed Busch with 20 laps to go during the 300-mile race in Joliet, Illinois.
