Thursday Morning Wisconsin Sports Report

Posted Thursday, September 27, 2012 --- 6:40 a.m.

Here is the latest Wisconsin sports news from The Associated Press:

CINCINNATI (AP) -- Ryan Braun homered last night as the Milwaukee Brewers topped the Cincinnati Reds 8-1. The victory moved the Brewers within three-and-a-half games of St. Louis for the second NL wild card spot. Norichika Aoki and Jonathan Lucroy also went deep for Milwaukee.

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -- Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers took another shot at the NFL over the disputed touchdown in Monday night's game. On his radio show yesterday, Rodgers dismissed an NFL-issued statement generally supporting the officials' handling of the situation. But Rodgers says it's now time to move on.

RENTON, Wash. (AP) -- Seattle Seahawks receiver Golden Tate is again the center of the debate following his disputed catch to beat Green Bay on Monday. Tate said yesterday he fully admits to fouling Sam Shields before leaping to try and make the catch. But the outcry from angry fans startled Tate, who says he's been called a cheater and "a lot of hurtful things."

ASHBURN, Va. (AP) -- The Washington Redskins have signed former Green Bay Packers running back Ryan Grant. The move comes after the Redskins placed running back Roy Helu Jr. on injured reserve. Grant spent five seasons in Green Bay, but has been looking for work after the team didn't re-sign him after last season.
