Posted Thursday, October 25, 2012 --- 7:50 a.m.

Here is the latest Wisconsin sports news from The Associated Press:

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -- With Charles Woodson expected out for six weeks, the Green Bay Packers are looking for big things from rookie Casey Hayward. The rookie has four interceptions in the last three games, and is tied for the NFL lead in picks. Coach Mike McCarthy calls Hayward "a playmaker."

MILWAUKEE (AP) -- The Milwaukee Bucks have exercised contract options on Tobias Harris, Larry Sanders and Ekpe Udoh. The rookie Harris appeared in 42 games for the Bucks last year, while Sanders led the team in blocks with a total of 76. Udoh split time between Golden State and Milwaukee last season.

WINNIPEG, Manitoba (AP) -- Chase Budinger scored 21 points last night to lead the Minnesota Timberwolves to a 95-76 preseason win over the Detroit Pistons. Derrick Williams added 18 points and Nikola Pekovic had 14 for the Wolves. Rodney Stuckey led the Pistons in scoring with 21 points.

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) -- Pablo Sandoval hit three homers last night as the San Francisco Giants topped the Detroit Tigers 8-3 in Game 1 of the World Series. Sandoval joined Babe Ruth, Reggie Jackson and Albert Pujols as the only players to homer three times in a World Series game. Tigers ace Justin Verlander lasted just four innings after giving up five earned runs.
