Here is the latest Wisconsin sports news from The Associated Press:

MILWAUKEE (AP) — Jonathan Lucroy homered twice last night as the Milwaukee Brewers rallied to beat the Chicago Cubs 9-5. The Brewers sent 11 batters to the plate and scored eight runs in the fifth inning. Cubs starter Justin Germano took the loss after giving up seven earned runs in four-plus innings.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin coach Bret Bielema has named Danny O'Brien the starting quarterback for the regular-season opener against Northern Iowa on September 1st. Bielema said on Twitter Sunday night that O'Brien earned the job over Curt Phillips and Joel Stave. O'Brien says he felt confident in his ability to clinch the spot.

CHICAGO (AP) — Alexei Ramirez hit a tiebreaking two-run homer in the seventh inning last night to lead the Chicago White Sox past the New York Yankees 9-6. Adam Dunn, Dewayne Wise and Gordon Beckham also homered for the White Sox, who snapped a three-game skid. Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter had four hits, tying Eddie Murray for 11th place on the career hits list.

NEW YORK (AP) — For the first time in its 80-year history, Augusta National Golf Club in Georgia has female members. Augusta has invited former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and South Carolina financier Darla Moore to join when the club opens for a new season in October. Both women have accepted.
