Tuesday Morning Wisconsin Sports Report

Posted Tuesday, November 6, 2012 --- 6:50 a.m.

Here is the latest Wisconsin sports news from The Associated Press:

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -- With injuries mounting, a bye week comes at the perfect time for the Green Bay Packers. The team has used a four-game win streak to get back in contention for the NFC North title. Five of Green Bay's last seven games will be against division opponents.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Wisconsin will finish the season with a new starting quarterback. But Badgers coach Bret Bielema prefers to keep the decision quiet. Junior transfer Danny O'Brien and fifth-year senior Curt Phillips are listed as co-starters on the depth chart.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) -- The Big Ten has announced that No.5 Ohio State's game at Wisconsin on November 17th will kick off at 3:30 p.m. The matchup will be televised by ABC/ESPN2. The Buckeyes have a bye this week, and the Badgers play at Indiana on Saturday.

MILWAUKEE (AP) -- Marquette sophomore guard Todd Mayo has been declared academically ineligible. Coach Buzz Williams announced yesterday that Mayo is unable to practice or play indefinitely. Mayo is the younger brother of Dallas Mavericks guard O.J. Mayo.
