It's not getting knocked down but whether you get back up that determines if your a winner. That's mindset has motivated many an athlete and team. Friday night it was the mantra of #3 Madison Memorial boys basketball team.
The Spartans bounced back from their first loss of the season, at Madison East last week, by posting a convincing win over Big 8 rival Verona 57-34. UW recruit Vander Blue led all scorers with 22 points but it was a 19-3 4th quarter that sealed the deal as the Spartans sweep their season series with the Wildcats. Verona, which trailed by just four at the half, was led by Jason Ziemer's 11 points.
