The was emotion, big plays, stars in foul trouble and a standing room only crowd Thursday night at Madison Memorial for the Big 8 title showdown. In the end the 2nd ranked Spartans survived a tight affair and got a measure of revenge against an East squad that had won their first matchup back in January.
In a game featuring Division one recruits, college coaches such as UW's Bo Ryan & Marquette's Buzz Williams in attendance and two of the top 5 teams in the latest AP rankings it was freshman Junior Lomomba who shined the brightest. Lomomba poured in a game high 18 points.
