La Crosse Aquinas beats Manitowoc Roncalli in D-3 Semifinals
MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Senior guard Jimmy Whitehead scored 23 points to lead defending champion La Crosse Aquinas to a 56-41 victory over Manitowoc Roncalli in a semifinal game of the WIAA Division 3 boys state basketball tournament at the Kohl Center.
Aquinas will face Racine St. Catherine's Saturday night for the Division 3 title. The Blugolds improved to 22-3 with the victory.
The only Roncalli player able to mount a consistent offensive threat was sophomore guard Ben Stelzer, who finished with 15 points.
Roncalli finished its season at 21-5.
