Craig High School Names New Boys’ Basketball Coach

Craig High School has named Mike Miller as the new Boys’ Basketball coach,
where he will be taking over for the retiring coach, Bob Suter. Miller is
a 1987 graduate of Craig High School, where he played varsity basketball,
baseball, and football. He earned a basketball Honorable Mention
All-Conference and his team won the Big Eight Champion Title in 1986-87.

Mike earned his Bachelor’s degree in education at Beloit College in 1992,
where he also continued playing baseball and basketball. He was a
multiple-time letter winner in each sport. In 2002, he enrolled at
UW-Whitewater. There he earned a Master of Science, Curriculum and
Instruction with an emphasis in learning in the adolescent years. He
currently works at Craig High School as a social studies teacher.

Miller has extensive coaching experience in many sports, but has mainly
focused on basketball. He began his coaching career at Beloit Catholic
High School as the junior varsity boys’ basketball coach for one season.
He was the varsity girls’ basketball coach at Campbellsport High School
for 3 seasons, the junior varsity boys’ basketball coach at Monticello
High School for two seasons. He then came to Janesville where he was the
varsity boys’ basketball coach at Parker for 2 seasons. Since 1999, he
has worked his way up as a basketball coach at Craig. He worked as a
volunteer assistant varsity boys’ coach for one season, freshman boys’
coach for one season, sophomore boys’ coach for five seasons, and a junior
varsity boys’ coach for two seasons.
