MILWAUKEE (AP) -- Tourists and locals alike will soon get to take a photo with a piece of Milwaukee history: Arthur "Fonzie" Fonzarelli giving the thumbs-up.
A life-size statue of the "Happy Days" character clad in a leather jacket will be dedicated Tuesday downtown along the Milwaukee River.
VISIT Milwaukee spokesman Dave Fantle says the statue was intended to attract tourists. Milwaukee joins at least six other cities around the nation that have erected statues of classic television and movie characters.
Most of the "Happy Days" cast will be town for the unveiling, including Henry Winkler, who played the Fonz.
Winkler says he doesn't take it lightly that a character he created will soon be a permanent addition to Milwaukee. He joked that he has to remember it doesn't make him any taller.
