WILD ROSE, Wis. (AP) -- Wisconsin wildlife officials plan to celebrate renovations at an east-central Wisconsin fish hatchery this afternoon.
The Department of Natural Resources has spent about $16 million renovating its cold water trout and salmon hatchery in Wild Rose.
The hatchery is the state's largest cold water fish hatchery. About 94 percent of the trout and salmon raised at the facility go to stock Lake Michigan.
DNR officials plan a ribbon-cutting ceremony and media tours.
The agency also is spending $17.7 million to rebuild walleye and sturgeon ponds at the hatchery.
