LA CROSSE, Wis. (AP) -- Two telephone technicians in La Crosse have been treated for bite wounds after a dog attack in an alley on the city's south side.

Authorities say a dog described as a pit bull jumped a wire fence and attacked the two Century Tel workers yesterday morning about 9:15 a.m.

According to Tri-State Ambulance Director Matt Zavadsky, one man had bites to the hands, thigh and upper arm, and the second man was bitten in the abdomen as he came to the defense of the other.

Zavadsky says the injuries are not life-threatening. He says the men are both in their late 40s.

Health officials ordered the dog impounded for at least 10 days. The La Crosse County Health Department says its investigation will determine whether it will seek a court order to have the dog euthanized.

Please don't print this type of story unless you a)know it was a pit bull b)know the men were not on the dogs property and c)print ALL of the other reported dog bite by ALL of the other breeds of dogs. I love my gentel pit bull. Thank you.
