RHINELANDER, Wis. (AP) -- A man convicted of driving recklessly before a highway crash killed his co-worker in Oneida County has been sentenced to five months in jail.

Prosecutors say Wade Tatro of Pelican Lake and Nicholas Mueller of Harshaw were driving in separate pickup trucks after stopping at a bar and started horseplay with their vehicles on the highway Sept. 7, 2007.

Mueller lost control of his truck, left the road and overturned. He later died of injuries.

Tatro was recently acquitted of homicide by intoxicated use of a motor vehicle and two other felonies. He was convicted of recklessly endangering safety.

Judge Mark Mangerson Wednesday called Tatro's action "foolishness" and said he disregard the safety of others.

Tatro was also ordered to serve three years extended supervision.
