UPDATED Wednesday, July 15, 2009 --- 11:11 a.m.

WAUKESHA, Wis. (AP) -- Bond has been lowered for a New Berlin (BUR'-lin) student accused in a scam that started on Facebook.

A criminal complaint says 18-year-old Anthony Stancl (STAN'-sihl) posed as a girl on Facebook, tricked classmates into sending him naked photos and then used the photos to blackmail the boys for sex acts.

Stancl's attorney Craig Kuhary (koo-HAYR'-ee) had asked a Waukesha County judge to lower bond from $250,000 to $75,000 and the judge agreed Wednesday.

Stancl was still in jail Wednesday morning. His next hearing is Sept. 11.

If he posts bond, the judge ordered him to have no contact with victims, witnesses or any minors except his siblings and not to use cell phones or any Internet device. He will be on electronic monitoring with GPS tracking.

But District Attorney Brad Schimel is against it. The judge is scheduled to give his decision Thursday.

i have a hard time understanding why they have preliminary court hearings and all that other nonsense. He did something wrong, drag his but in their and get it done. That is such a waste. If he wants a full court hearing say so at the time you are arrested and charged with this.
