MILWAUKEE (AP) -- A 62-year-old Milwaukee-area swim coach accused of assaulting boys has pleaded no contest to two counts of second-degree sexual assault of a child.
Three counts of child enticement were dismissed Monday in the case against former West Allis swimming coach Daniel Acker.
Acker was arrested in March while coaching youth swimmers at Frank Lloyd Middle school. Earlier that day, a man told police Acker had sexually assaulted him in the early 1970s.
Greenfield police called it the largest sexual assault investigation in department history.
Investigators claimed Acker molested dozens of boys over a 40-year period, but only filed five charges because the statute of limitations had run on other alleged assaults.
Acker is scheduled to be sentenced in January.

Acker faces five counts related to sex crimes against children. Investigators say he has not been charged in other cases because the statute of limitations expired.
Acker's expected to go on trial in October.

WEST ALLIS, Wis. (AP) -- The West Allis School Board has voted to continue to employ the swimming instructor accused of sexually assaulting boys.
Dan Acker was placed on unpaid administrative leave when the allegations first surfaced three weeks ago.
At a closed-door meeting Monday night, the school board was briefed on the information the school district gave to police. West Allis-West Milwaukee Superintendent Kurt Wachholz says the board may move forward on firing Acker sometime in the near future.
The 61-year-old Waukesha man is charged with numerous counts of sexual assault of a child.
Police say Acker's assaults may have gone on for decades.

UPDATED Saturday, April 4, 2009 --- 8:45 a.m.
MILWAUKEE (AP) -- A 61-year-old swimming coach from Waukesha has been charged with four more counts related to child molestation.
Daniel J. Acker was charged Friday with second-degree sexual assault of a child and three counts of child enticement.
Last week he was charged with a separate count of child sexual assault.
The latest charges stem from allegations that Acker repeatedly tied up a then-middle school student and photographed him naked.
The criminal complaint says the assaults happened about 18 years ago. It says the most recent update to the statute of limitations allows for prosecution before the victim turns 45. This alleged victim is 32.
Online court records didn't list an attorney for Acker late Friday. The prosecutor's office didn't immediately return a message.

MILWAUKEE (AP) — A sexual assault charge has been filed against a suburban Milwaukee swimming coach who police say is suspected of molesting boys for more than three decades.
The charge of second-degree sexual assault of a child was filed Friday in Milwaukee County Circuit Court against 61-year-old Daniel Acker of Waukesha. It alleges that he had sexual contact with a 15-year-old boy visiting at his residence in August 2005. The charge carries up to 40 years in prison.
Also, Greenfield Deputy Inspector Bradley Wentlandt said police have turned evidence collected in a search of Acker's home over to the FBI. He said officers found a dozen photos of abducted and murdered children, journals discussing a 1975 child abduction and murder, and model cars with the names and dates of death of murdered children written on the bottoms.
