OSHKOSH, Wis. (AP) — A man crossing the highway was hit and killed in one of two accidents on northbound U.S. Highway 41 in Oshkosh within less than an hour Friday afternoon.

The Wisconsin State Patrol is investigating both of the accidents. The first happened about 1:30 p.m. when a pedestrian near the intersection with Highway 21 tried to cross in front of a vehicle and was hit.

He was pronounced dead at a hospital.

The traffic was still backed up from that accident when another happened just after 2 p.m. Authorities said a motorcycle rear-ended a car. The woman driving the motorcycle was hospitalized with injuries described as non-life-threatening.
