TOWN OF BURLINGTON, Wis. (AP) -- Authorities have recovered the body of a teenager from Browns Lake in the Town of Burlington.
A water patrol officer spotted the body floating Thursday afternoon about 100 yards from where a 14-year-old Milwaukee boy went under water on Tuesday. The body was taken to the Waukesha Medical Examiner's office for positive identification.
Darieus Nelson was on a boat with some football teammates and their coach about 2 p.m. Tuesday when he jumped into the water. Friends were unable to save him.
The outing was organized by their coach and gym teacher at Darrell Lynn Hines Academy in Milwaukee, but was not sponsored by the school, where Darieus was an honor roll student.
