GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -- The state Medical Examining Board has filed a complaint against a Green Bay physician alleging he failed to adequately assess a patient.

The complaint stems from a 2006 allegation against Dr. Fred Walbrun, the medical director of ManorCare Health Services East.

Attorney Peter Hickey, who represents Walbrun, tells The Associated Press on Friday that Walbrun has answered the complaint and a hearing will be set in the future.

The state Department of Regulation and Licensing alleges that Walbrun's care fell below the standard of a minimally competent doctor.

HCR ManorCare spokeswoman Julie Beckert says the organization will reassess Walbrun's role after the board reaches a conclusion.
