SILVER LAKE, Wis. (AP) -- A former Silver Lake village president and police officer has been charged with having sex with a boy.

A criminal complaint alleges 71-year-old Ronald Wieland gave alcohol and marijuana to a 15-year-old before sexually assaulting him last week in his Silver Lake home. He is charged with two felony counts of sexual assault of a child younger than 16.

The complaint also mentions another 16-year-old boy who claims he was victimized at Wieland's house "countless times" when he was between 7 and 12 years old.

Wieland was on the village board from 1974 to 1983. He was president from 1979 to 1983.

Wieland posted a $20,000 cash bond Saturday. A preliminary hearing is set for Wednesday. Wieland declined comment to the Kenosha News. A call to his home Wednesday by The Associated Press went unanswered.
