MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- A legislative panel considering whether to expel Representative Jeff Wood has set a date to hear testimony from the plan's only sponsor. Republican Steve Nass is expected to testify in favor of Wood's expulsion when the special ethics committee meets on March 16. Wood have been arrested three times for driving under the influence.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- The University of Wisconsin-Madison is distancing itself from an agreement with a conservative group to conduct public opinion polls it announced just months ago. UW-Madison officials say they never reached a formal partnership with the Wisconsin Policy Research Institute. The UW has asked the institute to stop using its logo.

MILWAUKEE (AP) -- Will Allen has been honored at the White House for his work as an urban farmer and founder of Growing Power in Milwaukee. Now he's being honored for his basketball career. Allen will be introduced as an Atlantic Coast Conference Men's Basketball Legend representing the University of Miami at the ACC Tournament. In 1967, Allen became the first African-American scholarship athlete recruited to the University of Miami.

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (AP) -- In sports, seniors Tony Lucia and Mike Carman scored two goals apiece as Minnesota routed Wisconsin 6-1 yesterday in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association finale. The Golden Gophers open the WCHA playoffs on Friday at North Dakota while second-seed Wisconsin plays host to Alaska-Anchorage.
