OCONTO, Wis. (AP) — Bond was set at $750,000 Friday for the man charged in Oconto County with killing his estranged wife and setting her house on fire.

Fifty-year-old Randall Staeven is charged with first-degree intentional homicide in the death of 40-year-old Christine Staeven, arson, mutilating a corpse and endangering the lives of three children in the home.

A criminal complaint says Staeven's wife was killed before the fire was set. WLUK-TV reports the couple had been going through a divorce at the time of the woman's death in May 2009.

Staeven is scheduled to return to court Aug. 5.
