Carleen Wild anchors NBC15 News at 11 & 4 and co-anchors NBC15 News at 5 with Leigh Mills. Wild joined the NBC 15 team in October of 2007, returning to the anchor desk after having taken a break from local news. She spent the past three years working in the non-profit sector for University of Wisconsin Foundation, on behalf of the UW Carbone Cancer Center. It is a mission that was and continues to be very personal to Wild. Carleen lost her mother to lung cancer, a non-smoker, at a very young age. And, many other family and friends have been affected by the disease, in various forms, as well. Prior to that, Wild spent close to 8 years with WISC-TV, the CBS affiliate in Madison where she co-anchored the nightly 6 & 10 newscasts. There, she focused her reporting on local medical breakthroughs and community health issues. Her first home in news was at the NBC affiliate in Missoula, Montana. When not on the air, Wild most enjoys spending time with her “awesome, beautiful and spirited 6 year old daughter, Ailee. She is just the most incredible gift,” says Wild. “There are just never enough hours in the day to fully appreciate all that she is.” The two can often be found walking their new little yellow lab puppy, spending time with family and friends, dancing in the living room, running errands, at the library, maybe even curling or just off on a hike. Wild also does what she can with the remainder of her time, to give back to the community where possible. She currently serves on several non-profit Boards including the UW Carbone Cancer Center, the National Lung Cancer Partnership and Girls on the Run. She had also previously spent 6 years with Easter Seals Wisconsin.
