Christine Bellport joined the The Morning Show on NBC15 family on September 7, 2004. She currently co-hosts the morning news program weekdays from 4:30am to 7am with Meteorologist Charlie Shortino.

Christine came to NBC 15 from KUSI-TV in San Diego where she was an anchor and a reporter for the number one rated weekday morning and noon newscasts. She covered two school shootings, was on the front lines with firefighters during the wildfires of 2004 and reported on the history making recall election that put Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger in office.

Prior to that she was a morning anchor in Tucson, AZ, Anchor/Reporter in Savannah, GA and a reporter for Orange County Newschannel. She got her start in radio in Leesburg, VA but quickly moved to WTOP newsradio in Washington, D.C where she was the youngest person to hold the job as producer. She also filed regular reports for countries including Australia when the Persian Gulf War broke out in the early 1990's.

Christine traveled to Kenya, Africa with Hospicecare Inc. of Madison in the summer of '05 to report on the devastating effects of HIV/AIDS & how a tiny hospice in Meru, Kenya is working to help families of the terminally ill. She started the weekly Pet of the Week segments that air live every Monday morning at 6:40am on The Morning Show. She regularly donates her time to various charities and organizations in town and is not above taking her turn in a dunk tank or two to raise money for a good cause!

One of her greatest accomplishments is hosting 2 telethons for The Helen Woodward Animal Center with Oscar winning actress and fellow animal lover Diane Keaton.

Christine is a proud alum of USC where she was a Political Science major and a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. Over the years she has been involved with The Arthritis Foundation, United Cerebral Palsy, The Hermitage No Kill Cat Shelter, The San Diego Humane Society & The Helen Woodward Animal Center, among others.

The NBC 15 Management and News Team are very excited and proud to have Christine in the NBC15 family.
