Britni McDonald joined the NBC15 news team in January of 2013 as the Weekend Anchor. You’ll also see her reporting during the week. Her career has taken her across the country and back, but she’s called Wisconsin home since 2011.
Britni spent the past couple of years as the morning reporter and fill-in anchor at CBS58 in Milwaukee, covering stories live every day that Madison is very familiar with, including Governor Walker’s recall, the Sikh Temple shooting, and Paul Ryan’s vice presidential run. Prior to this, NBC viewers in Casper, Wyoming started their day with her as the morning anchor on KCWY-13’s top-rated newscast for two years. During her time there, Britni created several popular features, including a "how to" segment and a "behind the scenes" look at area businesses. She also had the pleasure of interviewing celebrities like Rainn Wilson, Carson Daly, and Joel McHale.
While you see Britni in front of the camera, she has spent a lot of time behind it too. While in Wyoming and Milwaukee, she was what the industry calls a “one man band,” meaning she also shot and edited all of her own stories. Some of her work earned her "Best Photography" from the 2011 Wyoming Association for Broadcasters.
Britni comes from Massachusetts but attended college close by at Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, IL. She loves to immerse herself in the people, sights, and sounds of the community she lives-- from the east coast beaches, to the rodeos in Wyoming, to the breweries in Milwaukee. That’s what she believes true story-telling is about, and that’s what she will do right here in Madison!
So help her tell your story! Shoot her an email at email@example.com and follow her on Facebook and Twitter.
