Sarah Carlson joined The Morning Show on NBC-15 in November of 2006, with co-anchors Christine Bellport and Charlie Shortino. Living in Madison for most of the past 13 years, she's excited to be part of a show that she became a fan of first as a viewer. Sarah comes to the NBC-15 family from St. Mary's Hospital in Madison, where she worked as the media relations director since the spring of 2004. Previously, she worked at a competing Madison station for three years, in both morning and evening roles.
Sarah is also the health reporter for NBC-15 and hopes her experience working in health care will make her stories more useful and meaningful to viewers. Madison is on the cutting edge of health care technology and is a leader in accountablitiy of quality and cost of care, making this an exciting place to be a medical reporter. Sarah has served on the board of directors for Madison's AIDS Network and is active in other local organizations including the March of Dimes.
Sarah graduated from the UW-Madison with a degree in journalism in 1998. She worked as an anchor and reporter in Alexandria, Minnesota and La Crosse, Wisconsin for a short time before returning to the city she calls home. Sarah grew up in Oak Park, Illinois and now lives on Madison's west side with her husband Sam, who also works at NBC-15, and their daughter & son.
