Meteorologist Carlos Tucker joined NBC15 in May 2012.
Prior to WMTV, Tucker spent a two year break from television, working for Weather Central, a Madison based weather company, specializing in weather software, hardware, and data for television stations.
Previously, he has been a meteorologist for TV stations in Columbus, Oh, Elmira, NY, and served as Chief Meteorologist in Lubbock TX, where he was awarded Best Weathercast by the Texas Associated Press.
Carlos graduated from Metropolitan State University of Denver with degrees in Broadcast Communications and Meteorology.
Tucker began his weather career as a meteorologist in the US Air Force. Originally a Combat Weatherman, he was attached to Army Brigade Combat Teams as well as Air Force Fighter Squadrons, honing his skills in forecasting for ground and air combat operations. Carlos has functioned in supervisory forecasting positions in the Middle East on two separate tours of duty, and continues his service now, as a member of the Wisconsin Air National Guard.
Outside of work, Carlos enjoys spending time with his lovely wife, Cara, and their curiously refined gentleman of a dog, Walter Cronkite the Dog. An avid outdoor enthusiast, Carlos is a USPA certified Skydiver and NAUI certified Scuba diver whose additional hobbies include skiing and snowboarding, running, hiking, camping, and vintage motorcycles.
