Chuck Koch joined the NBC 15 Weather Authority team in September of 2009. Before moving to Madison, Chuck was the weekend meteorologist at KFYR-TV in Bismarck, North Dakota where he covered a multitude of weather conditions, including a bone chilling temperature of -44 F (without the wind chill). Before KFYR-TV, Chuck got is start in television as an intern at WFRV in Green Bay and WTMJ in Milwaukee.

A southwestern Wisconsin native, Chuck grew up in Viola, in the heart of the Kickapoo River valley. He earned his degree in Atmospheric and Oceanic Science from UW-Madison in 2007 and is very excited to be back in Madison.

While at UW, Chuck was a member of the UW Marching Band and was given the opportunity to follow the Badgers to four bowl games, various NCAA tournaments and the 2006 National Championship in men’s hockey.

Chuck is a member of the American Meteorological Society and has been awarded the designation of "Certified Broadcast Meteorologist" (CBM #399) in December 2009.

When Chuck is not analyzing the weather, he may be found following the Badgers, Packers and Brewers, as well as enjoying the great outdoors. He is an avid hiker, camper, skier and runner and enjoys all the activities each season has to offer.
