25th Annual Brat Fest Sizzles

Brat Fest is back! For 25 years volunteers have been grilling for charity.
Organizers say it gets bigger and better every year.

Sauerkraut, extra ketchup and a brat, that's ummm good.

Every year, thousands pile in trying to taste the best brat a $1.50 can buy.

But, it isn't all about the brats. This year the World's Largest Brat Fest is bringing in some extra entertainment.

Volunteers are the one's grilling up the brats. 3,000 volunteers donate their time, trying to raise money for their organizations. Marcia represents the Boys and Girls Club.

"We just come out here and just enjoy talking to people and just working for a great cause and having a lot of fun," says Marcia Hendrickson, with Dane County Boys and Girls Club.

Money raised goes to charities. This year the goal is to raise $80,000.

"What's nice about here is there's a lot of opportunity where all the kids can actually participate and help out and be very effective and they're helping a good cause," says Special Olympics West Side volunteer, Wayne Edleback.

A good cause, that's sure to leave you good and full.

This is the first year the brats cost a $1.50, it used to be $1 dollar organizers hope the new price will help charities.

This year Johnsonville donated 150,000 brats.

The person who purchases the 189,433 brat, which will break the world Record, will receive a $2,500 splurge card to use at Kesslers Diamonds on the Beltline.
