HELP "TAKE A BITE OUT OF HUNGER"
NBC15's Share Your Holidays campaign officially begins Nov. 1st

Make a donation to end hunger and get your morning caffeine fix! Drive through NBC15's parking lot at 615 Forward Drive in Madison to pick up your morning cup of PDQ World Cup coffee and a Kraft breakfast bar on November 1, 2007 from 6 AM to 9 AM. All proceeds will benefit Second Harvest Foodbank of Southern Wisconsin. The event will be broadcast live on the NBC15 Morning Show with Christine Bellport, Sarah Carlson, and Charlie Shortino.

"Take A Bite Out Of Hunger" is a fantastic way to start our holiday campaign to help those in need here in our community, plus it is also your chance to have Charlie Shortino serve you coffee!!!!

The event is sponsored by PDQ World Cup with additional support from Kraft/Oscar Mayer. PDQ Food Stores is based in Madison and serves eight varieties of World Cup coffee at its 22 locations in Dane County. World Cup coffee is roasted fresh every week in Madison and is hand selected from the top 2% of all coffee grown in the world, including fine coffee growing regions in Costa Rica, Guatemala, and Mexico.

NBC15's Share Your Holidays To Eliminate Hunger began one snowy day in 1996 through the efforts of Mike McKinney, news anchor for NBC15, and NBC15 management. They teamed up with Second Harvest Foodbank of Southern Wisconsin and the Wisconsin National Guard to collect enough food and funds from the community to provide 46,000 meals to those in need. Eleven years and over 13 million meals later, NBC15's Share Your Holidays To Eliminate Hunger is the largest food and fund drive in Southern Wisconsin. The goal for the 2007 Share Your Holidays campaign is 1.6 million meals.

Second Harvest Foodbank of Southern Wisconsin distributes food to more than 390 charitable programs that feed those in need in 16 Southern Wisconsin counties. Food and fund donations from corporations, organizations, businesses, foundations, and indviduals enable Second Harvest to distribute food to over 77,000 children and adults in need through local shelters, food pantries, and meal sites. Second Harvest is currently distributing more than six million pounds of food annually.
